Marc Andreas Thorpe began his career in 1998 as director of design for DSA Associates, in Washington DC.
He earned a Bachelors Degree in Industrial and Graphic Design from the University of Maryland, followed in 2004 by a Masters Degree in Architecture, with Honors, from Parsons School of Design in New York. Thorpe was awarded the 2003 Scholastic Award for Scholarly Pursuit by the American Institute of Architects and the American Architectural Foundation, and received the Alpha Rho Chi medal for architectural leadership and professional excellence in 2004.
In 2005, Thorpe established New York-based Third Eye Studios (3E), as an architectural and design co-operative, active in the creation of design solutions for the commercial, residential and leisure sectors. He has worked extensively in Italy and New York as an industrial designer, and continues to collaborate on projects with a wide range of partners. He has taught in the Architecture Department at Parsons School of Design and the Industrial Design Department of Pratt Institute in New York City.
Thorpe has been published internationally in design journals and texts including Wallpaper*, International Design (ID), Viewpoint, Surface, Interni, Frame, Absolute Architecture and Interior Design Magazine. Thorpe was selected for inclusion in the text Ultimate New York Design, highlighting 50 of New York City’s top design talents and is one of the newest signature designers for famed American design house Bernhardt Design.
Thorpe currently teaches in the Department of Design, Digital Art and Film at New York University in New York City.

Third Eye Studios (3E) is a New York based, multi-disciplinary design practice specializing in the fields of architecture and industrial design. Under the direction of principle architect and industrial designer Marc A. Thorpe, 3E provides a full range of progressive architectural and design services for the residential, commercial and leisure sectors.
3E's design services include architectural design and development, construction administration, furniture and product design, environmental graphic design, CG modeling and exhibition design direction.
3E is dedicated to research, professional practice and the education of systemic perception through the language of architecture and design. The studio offers itself as an open system for the production of progressive conceptual development and the re-evaluation of experiential meaning.
