Larry R. Laslo is known in the design world as an inveterate arbiter of style creating legendary interior landscapes.
Multi-talented, multi-faceted, multi-directional -- Larry Laslo takes his inspiration from the world around him and translates these surroundings into a new definition of “livable contemporary.” For Laslo, contemporary means “timeless.”
Laslo has designed brilliant interiors that have graced the editorial pages of Architectural Digest, The New York Times, House & Garden, Vogue, Elle Décor, Vanity Fair, Town & Country, Veranda and W; while his Manhattan home was featured in Elle Décor and HGTV’s Top 10 Living Rooms. He is recognized in New York City for the interior design of Takashimaya’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue and the highly regarded look and feel of Bergdorf Goodman, in addition to the one-of-a-kind homes he designs throughout the country. Laslo was also given the distinct honor to design and install the East meets West Hanae Mori exhibit at Art Tower Mito in Japan.
“To be successful in creating an environment, one must be a born collaborator,” Laslo believes. And so, Laslo has collaborated with the best artists and architects of our time to create the unique atmospheres that personify his work - while leaving the undeniable imprint of each of his clients.
Laslo’s world of design transcends the expected, having been at the forefront of the industry as he led the way into a new frontier by hosting the “Larry Laslo Home Show” for five years on QVC. He has gone on to be one of the foremost product designers in the world, his new fabric collection “Larry Laslo for The Robert Allen Group” was launched in 2007 with more than 250 fabrics, he has also created furniture collections for John Widdicomb, Ferguson Copeland and Directional; china for Mikasa and Royal Limoges; lighting for Frederick Cooper; art for Rosenbaum; pottery for Haeger to name just a few. His home furnishings and accessory collections are sold throughout the world at such well-known stores as Tiffany & Co., Horchow Catalogue, Harrods, Bloomingdales and Neiman Marcus. He participated in the 2006 and 2008 Kips Bay Showhouse. It was noted in the New York Times that Laslo’s room was the reporter’s favorite and that “these rooms are their creators.” Laslo won the prestigious IFDA Product Designer of the Year Award and has been named in House Beautiful’s top 100 Designers issue the last several years. Laslo was the Summer 2008 Honoree for the prestigious “Design Icon Award” presented at the World Market Center Las Vegas.
